ROTARY WEEK VOL 4 NO 42

JACKSON MANUFACTURING IS OWNED BY JACK HASKINS, A RESIDENT OF DUBUQUE, AND A MEMBER OF THE MAQUOKETA ROTARY CLUB.    HE
PURCHASED THE PLASTIC MOLDING COMPANY FROM DAC (NOW KNOWN AS,  "IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES") IN 2013.   THE COMPANY UP ON THE CORNER HILL ON JACOBSEN DRIVE WAS ESTABLSHING IN 1981.    IN EARLY YEARS,
IT HAD AS MANY AS 85 EMPLOYEES WHEN THEY WERE DOING SOME CONTRACT WORK FOR A VERY LARGE COMPANY.    NOW, THERE ARE AROUND 15-20 EMPLOYEES.    TODAY, ROTARY TOURED THE FACTORY.
JACK'S OFFICE, BUT HE WAS NOT PRESENT TODAY AS HE HAD A PREVIOUS ENGAGEMENT.   THANKFULLY, MARY RUPP WAS THERE AND GAVE THE TOUR.
SHE HAS BEEN WITH THE COMPANY FOR OVER 25 YEARS AND IS JACK'S RIGHT HAND (WO)MAN.
THAT'S MARY, POINTING OUT THE PLASTIC ITEMS THEY MAKE, INCLUDING MANY KNOBS AND STORM DOOR ROLLER ASSEMBLIES.
FOR THE DOORS, SEVERAL PARTS MAKE UP THE ASSEMBLY AND THESE PARTS ARE ASSEMBLED BY EMPLOYEES FROM "IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES".
REMEMBER, YOU CAN ENLARGE EACH PHOTO BY CLICKING ON IT.
ABOVE, WORKERS AT THE  ROTATING TABLE.    EACH PERSON ADDS A PART TO THE ASSEMBLY AS IT TURNS IN FRONT OF THEM.
BIG BUILDING

OFFICE AREA
EMPLOYEES WORK MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY AND CAN WORK 20 TO 40 HOURS A WEEK.   MARY
AND JACK ALSO WORK FRIDAY MORNINGS.
BY PURCHASING THE FACTORY, JACK (WITH MARY'S HELP) SAVED PLANT FROM CLOSING SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND IT IS NOW DOING WELL.

MEETING ADJOURNED AFTER AN ICECREAM TREAT
FOR ALL 17 ROTARIANS ON THE TOUR.
