ROTARY MEETING THIS WEEK AT CAMP SHALOM, RUN BY FELLOW ROTARIAN TOM BLEY.

NICE CAMP, OFF CAVES ROAD JUST NORTHWEST OF MAQUOKETA, STARTED BY ST. PAUL'S LUTHERAN
CHURCH AT DAVENPORT BUT NOW
RUN INDEPENDENTLY, NON DENOMINATIONAL, AND STILL WITH
SUPPORT OF ST. PAUL'S. TOM HAS
BEEN MANAGER FOR SEVERAL YEARS.
GUEST SPEAKER TODAY WAS ANN McGLYNN, DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS FOR ST. PAUL'S
LUTHERAN CHURCH IN DAVENPORT.
SHE TALKED ABOUT A REFUGE FAMILY ST. PAUL'S IS HELPING RESETTLE FROM UGANDA, THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH WORLD RELIEF OF MOLINE. THE FAMILY INCLUDES A MOTHER (NOELA) AND SIX CHILDREN.
THEY ARE DOING WELL, LIVING IN A HOME OFFERED BY A ST. PAUL MEMBER. NOELA IS WORKING AS DISHWASHER AT A BAKERY AND ATTENDING ENGLISH LESSON CLASS. ALL OF THE CHILDREN ARE IN SCHOOL OR DAYCARE.
