ABOUT THE CHRSITMAS STAR PROGRAM
THAT HE AND BARB MILLER HAVE RUN
FOR 28 YEARS....FIRST STARTED IN 1987.
SINCE THEN, 16,000 THOUSAND CHILDREN AND
SENIORS HAVE BEEN GIVEN PRESENTS OFF
THE TREES AT M-S-B BANK AND US BANK.
THIS YEAR, FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE
NUMBERS ARE DOWN A LITTLE. LAST
YEAR, 450 KIDS WERE SIGNED UP AND THIS
YEAR, 397. THE SENIORS TREE IS ABOUT
THE SAME AS LAST YEAR, 125. THIS IS A
PROJECT OF MAQUOKETA COMMUNITY
SERVICES WHICH ALSO RUNS THE USED
CLOTHING STORE AT DAC ON WEST PLATT.
NEW MEMBER
ADRIENNE WILLIAMSON, AN ATTORNEY WITHTHE PILLERS & RICHMAN LAW OFFICE JUST NORTH
OF THE HURST HOTEL IS THE NEW MEMBER THAT
RECEIVED HER OFFICIAL WELCOME TODAY. SHE
AND HUSBAND ERICK JUST CELEBRATED THEIR
5TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND HAVE PURCHSED
A HOME ON WEST QUARRY STREET. THEY HAVE
NO CHILDREN. SHE IS AT THE MAQUOKETA FULL
TIME AND THE OWNERS OF THE FIRM COME TO
MAQUOKETA TO ASSIST HER WHEN NEEDED.
ROTARIAN JOHN GILROY GETS CREDIT FOR BRINGING
HER TO ROTARY MEMBERSHIP. JOHN AT RIGHT, AND
PRESIDENT SCOTT WARREN TO LEFT. NICE TO HAVE
ADRIENNE AS A NEW MEMBER. SHE IS NOW THE 7TH
WOMAN IN THE CLUB. AND WE WELCOME MORE!

ROTARIAN KIM HUCKSTADT INFORMED
THE CLUB TODAY THAT HE HAS A NEW
JOB, AS AN ASSISTANT PROFESSOR AT THE
UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN IOWA IN
CEDAR FALLS. IF THEY MOVE TO CEDAR
FALLS, WE WILL LOOSE HIM AS A MEMBER.
THAT WOULD NOT BE GOOD.
